Gigs are happening every Tuesday night at The Underground at the Grand Hotel, Newcastle Doors open at 7:30pm. Band plays from 8:00-10:00pm. Bar open until 12:00am.

NIMA is a purely volunteer run, not-for-profit organisation that exists entirely for the community,

musicians and their music. We’re home to a passionate live music audience and work hard to bring

an exciting array of local, national and international acts to Newcastle each week.

MIRA is a journey to the roots of South American music. After living and performing in Australia for over a decade, jazz-trained Chilean vocalist Magdalena Mira felt a longing to reconnect with the music deep within her soul. “As much as you do, as far as you go,” she says, “the roots are the strongest thing.” Magdalena has brought together a band of players who are all passionately immersed in the music of their ancestors. Combined with Magdalena’s unique jazz phrasing and composition, MIRA is the rhythm, sweat, and harmony of South American roots animated by a contemporary spirit.
